Truro City Council is seeking a motivated, full-time, permanent Countryside Ranger.
The position is an exciting role and you will join a small team who are dedicated and enthusiastic about developing and maintaining existing and new open spaces in Truro.
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Communication – an engaging and creative approach to communicate the value of green, open spaces in Truro
- Understand the importance of open spaces and use resources to maintain and develop them
- Interpersonal skills - create and maintain positive relationships across multiple departments and with a variety of stakeholders
- IT – confidence in using and encouraging others to use a variety of Microsoft packages
- Strong organisational skills - ability to work to deadlines and plan and coordinate external group sessions
- Attention to detail - create robust plans for your team and ensure training is sufficient for the work required
- Ability to problem solve - seeking solutions is your passion
- Enthusiasm and positive approach - you enjoy working with others and sharing ideas
- Ability to role model the council’s agreed behaviours of Civility and Respect

WHAT WE OFFER: 22 days holiday entitlement (increasing to 23 days on 01 April 2023), 8 bank holidays and two additional statutory days, generous pension scheme, off-site town centre parking and £22,777 - £25,878 gross per year (depending on qualification and/or experience)
