Communications & Marketing Assistant Responsibilities:
Communications
- Co-ordinate the company’s internal and external communications, including employee newsletters, emails, social media content.
- Develop and implement the digital and social media strategy to improve our online presence and increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Liaising with Employee Council on company announcements and create content for these communications to all departments.
- Reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and as-needed basis.
- Photo library management including photography at group events.
- Contribute to the creation of presentations and assets at internal events.
PR & Marketing
- Facilitating updates to the company’s website including uploading news, creating new pages, responding to website enquiries, and managing the monthly maintenance package.
- Press coverage management.
- Marketing material production including flyers and brochures.
- Industry exhibitions – identifying relevant exhibitions and production of supporting marketing materials.
- Social Media management of the company’s channels.
- Setting up social media platforms as required, ensuring brand consistency and tone of voice.
- Supporting brand management across the company’s ensuring consistency of messaging and tone of voice.
Communications & Marketing Officer Requirements:
- Possess a relevant degree or professional qualification in journalism, communications, marketing or PR.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals at all levels across the organisation.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to proofread and edit information for a range of internal and external communications channels.
- Proficient and familiar with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, MailChimp, WordPress, and CMS systems.
- Analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data.
- Working knowledge of all major social media platforms.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to deliver projects on time, including prioritising personal workload.
- Effective and committed team player with the ability to work successfully with others.
- Good interpersonal and influencing skills with a track record of forming positive and successful working relationships.
- Excellent IT skills including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc).
Desirable Qualities
- Graphic design experience and knowledge of packages such as Canva, InDesign and Photoshop.
- A genuine interest in engineering practices.
- A PR and Marketing agency background would be an advantage but not essential.
- Full clean UK driving license as some travel to regional offices and client sites is expected as part of the role.

Salary: £25,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
