Department
The Marketing Team is based in Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO), part of the University's External Relations Directorate. The team produces materials for a wide range of student recruitment and conversion campaigns to maximise both student quality and diversity.
Role
We’re looking for an experienced content developer to join our marketing team to help tell the world about who we are and what we do, in particular why studying at the University of York is such a great choice. This role will be involved in developing a wide range of written, visual, audio and digital content to communicate with various groups of potential students and their influencers. The content will be used across many different types of media, including social channels, emails, web and in printed publications, as well as in our digital advertising and marketing campaigns.
Skills, experience and qualifications needed
The post holder will have previous experience in a marketing and/or student recruitment role and a good understanding of applicant/student motivations and needs. They will have an understanding of the practices and techniques related to writing for the web, including digital accessibility and the ability to write targeted, compelling, high-quality, accurate and on-style copy for use online and in print.
Key attributes required include being adept at organising, planning and prioritising work effectively to get the job done on time and to a high standard; the ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently to meet personal deadlines, manage conflicting workloads and priorities. The post holder should be self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, good analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
