Working with other members of the marketing and communications team, the marketing and communications coordinator will help to execute STEP’s strategic marketing programs, campaigns and initiatives for the cross-border oilfield services company. This role will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to support STEP’s unique, client-focused sales strategy: the Exceptional Client Experience. The role is also focused on communications tactics that will promote and support the company’s unique corporate culture and the Exceptional Employee Experience.

ROLE:
Reporting to the leader of the Marketing and Communications team in Calgary, Alberta, the Marketing and Communications Administrator will help to execute STEP’s North American marketing programs, campaigns, and initiatives. The administrator will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to support STEP’s unique client-focused sales strategy - the Exceptional Client Experience (ECE). The administrator will also manage internal communications tactics through which to promote and support the company’s unique corporate culture - the Exceptional Employee Experience (EEE).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the implementation of high-quality marketing resources aligned with the company’s strategic plans, utilizing traditional and digital platforms as well as community-based channels.
- Assist in the creation of sales sheets and presentations, engineering and sales templates, corporate profile sheets, print and online advertisements, tradeshow materials, and office/service center signage.
- Support the curation of content on company’s social media channels.
- Support the curation of community investment initiatives and sponsorship programs.
- Source, order and distribute promotional items for sales and operations team for various events, tradeshows and custom orders, ensuring brand consistency is maintained, for internal and external clients.
- Assist with the execution of company events to engage external stakeholders, such as client tournaments, barbeques, tradeshows, presentations, and other sponsored events.
- Assist with the execution of all internal company events such as barbeques, team building events, company celebrations, and town halls.
- Help to curate and distribute all internal content using company’s internal communication platforms.
- Ensure and maintain brand consistency in all internal documentation.
- Other ad hoc marketing and communications duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in marketing, communications, PR, or related field. While we will accept applicants with one to two years of work experience, preference will be given to applicants with three years of experience working in marketing, communications, public relations or related disciplines in the energy sector. The candidate will be a growth-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in communications, social platforms and digital media, administration, and event coordination.

- Ability to provide communications support and help the team execute memorable events, including tournaments, tradeshows and town halls.
- Ability to work independently and contribute in a team environment.
- Comfort with and aptitude for technology and systems with experience using the Microsoft Office 365 suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); proficiency in SharePoint is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and/or Canva.
- Experience with digital and web marketing tools.
