Job description

We're looking for a Social & Community Marketing Specialist to help us build and execute Hootsuite's community, engagement, and social listening programs across our global social channels. You'll work closely with the social marketing team and other teams across the organization to effectively scale the social listening and community programs, as well as engage on social media on behalf of the company during events, webinars, and daily community engagement. While working in a hybrid work arrangement, a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite's distributed workforce strategy), and in Hootsuite's Vancouver office, you will report to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Proactively and reactively engage daily with Hootsuite's audiences across its various social media channels to support the growth and maintenance of Hootsuite's social media channels
  • Work with the Social Marketing Manager to develop and seek new areas of opportunity to build Hootsuite's brand presence and SSOV on new social platforms and community groups
  • Write social copy, publish content, and create strategies for Facebook and Twitter based on industry knowledge and analytical evidence, while sourcing new engagement opportunities that will help drive our engagement KPIs
  • Stay up to date on incident response and crisis comms plans in collaboration with Corporate Communications and be ready to act if the call arises
  • Act as social stakeholder to triage and enhance customer care processes to ensure our customer's needs are being satisfied across all social touchpoints in partnership with customer support
  • Demonstrate the impact of the social listening and engagement program by measuring brand health (social mentions, sentiment, etc.) and social listening insights and communicating it to key teams like Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Sales
  • Support the social team with employee advocacy related activations using Hootsuite's Amplify tool to drive employee engagement and awareness of marketing campaigns

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business
  • Experience managing social channels for a global brand and running organic and paid social campaigns preferably on Twitter or Facebook
  • 2-5 years of proven experience of working with social listening platforms such as Talkwalker, and experience using native social network analytics and analytics platforms like Hootsuite Impact and Google Analytics,or a combination of education and experience
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt to a brand's voice while staying mindful of the audience
  • Experience running Twitter Campaigns/paid social campaigns an asset
  • Be the best possible user of Hootsuite, and use this knowledge to make marketing recommendations and provide product feedback to internal teams based on your experience within the team
  • Effectively communicating information and ideas in written and verbal format (internally and externally)
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with changes to social media platforms, learn on the job, and build process along the way
