Job Introduction

Are you looking for the next step in your marketing & communications career? Perhaps you’re seeking a bigger challenge, in an exciting and fast paced environment, surrounded by a team that support and motivate each other.

This role offers the above (and much more), and will be well suited to you, a passionate and proactive communications professional.

Your purpose will be to develop and deliver marketing and communications for BBC Studioworks, such that our internal team and the external market understand who we are, what we stand for, and have us front of mind to work with.

You will develop, deliver, and monitor marketing and communication activities across the entire spectrum of communication disciplines in line with our business objectives. Internal communications will make up the largest element, articulating our vision and values and supporting the implementation of our People & Culture Strategy, through effective communication across multiple channels.

Alongside this, you will be responsible for overseeing corporate communications activity, including PR and media relations, digital and social media platform management, branding and (infrequent) proactive marketing (print/online/video advertising and promotional materials). Third party agencies will support as required, which you would manage.

Main Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

If this is ticking your boxes, below is more on what you can expect to be doing in this exciting role:

  • Develop and deliver effective and authentic internal communications such that our people are aware of what is going on, are engaged with our business, and feel part of our community.
  • Develop and deliver effective external communications, such that we reach relevant audiences both with regular news to remain front of mind and with more significant news and announcements.
  • Lead on crisis management (and remaining on call outside of office hours should the need arise), developing processes, advising senior management, and liaising with key stakeholders (in particular the BBC Press Office).
  • Be the guardian of the BBC Studioworks Brand and brand guidelines across all locations and touchpoints.
  • Own the social media channels and website and assist with the production of assets.
  • Work with external agencies to increase customer acquisition and drive brand awareness.
Are you the right candidate?

What we are looking for:

  • You complete some of your best work under pressure – this role is fast paced, so you’ll need to be an organised individual.
  • You’ll possess fantastic verbal and written communication skills -you can communicate at all levels.
  • Deliver creative, engaging and innovative communication campaigns and content that achieve the stakeholders’ objectives and land in and outside the business in the right way, at the right time.
  • You will have experience in digital as well as traditional media.
  • You’ll be an analytical thinker – you can interpret, synthesise and summarise written information.
  • And last but in no way least, you’ll be passionate about what you do and this will be reflected in your work.

What you’ll get in return:

  • You will be offered trust & plenty of resources at your disposal to do your job well, and develop your knowledge further.
  • We’ll welcome you into a culture that doesn’t simply accept difference, it seeks out and embraces different thinking and different perspectives.
