Marketing Communications Lead Remote

The Rivers Trust
Full Time Remote 31867 - 33638 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

The Rivers Trust is a leading environmental charity and the umbrella body of The Rivers Trust movement, comprising over 65 independent local charities. Our vision is for wild, healthy, natural rivers, valued by all. We are at a critical point in our history as we expand to deliver projects to protect and replenish this critical part of the natural environment, and our research and expertise is now needed more urgently than ever as water supply and quality move up the public agenda.

We are looking for a Marketing Communications Lead to play a pivotal role in our dynamic and growing Communications and Advocacy team. Starting as soon as possible and reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be planning innovative campaigns to inspire action, build trust and promote solutions across a variety of platforms and media.

There'll be a wide range of responsibilities including:

  • Planning, co-ordinating and executing campaigns across a variety of platforms (web, social media, print, email)
  • Bringing to life scientific information to inspire action
  • Write and produce reports, translating scientific information into marketing materials and assets for public distribution
  • Building trust with our stakeholders to helping them avoid misinformation and ensuring the appropriate use of data and evidence
  • Overseeing digital communications and the production of email newsletters and successful social media content
  • Line managing and supporting the development of the Communications & Campaigns Assistant
  • Reporting and analysing content produced
  • Aligning external communications with advocacy
  • Updating website copy and content
  • Managing the external brand to ensure a consistent look and feel
  • Supporting the development of branded materials
  • Planning and participating in meetings with key colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Working alongside our PR and Events Co-ordinator to plan and align content calendars
  • Contributing to a respectful and inclusive working culture across the Trust
  • Following all Rivers Trust policies and practices including Health and Safety, EDI, IT and GDPR.

This is a full time-time role of 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility around working hours including the option of a nine-day fortnight.

You will need to be able to work occasional evenings, weekends and overnight stays around the country, which are planned in advance and for which time-off in lieu is available.

It's also home-based and you can apply from anywhere in the UK, as the rest of the job can be delivered remotely. We supply your equipment and currently use Microsoft packages, Slack, Adobe Design software and Canva, so any and all experience in these is useful, or the ability to pick them up quickly.

You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team of people including a number of other new starters, who will value your contribution and who are all motivated by communicating and advancing the cause of the Rivers Trust.

The salary for the job is £31,867 - £33,638 per year, depending on skills and experience.
