Schlüter-Systems Ltd is the UK subsidiary of a German-founded international manufacturer of products for the construction industry. A long-established family-owned company and brand with more than fifty years’ experience, our products are predominantly focused towards the ceramic tile and natural stone industries.
With over 10,000 products in our range, typically Schlüter-Systems can be found in many commercial and high-end residential properties, among other installations.
To compliment the traditional sales route to market, Schlüter-Systems also focuses on upskilling the industry by providing training and education via its own in-house training facility.
1. Purpose
Working closely with the Senior Communications Coordinator, the Communications Assistant will play an integral role in executing the marketing communications activities to raise brand awareness and promote products, applications and services to key target audiences.
This role covers the entire spectrum of internal and external communications across both online (e.g. web, social media, email) and offline channels (e.g. advertising, print) to drive brand awareness, generate sales, leads and ultimately increase sales and profit.
2. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Assist the Senior Communications Coordinator with the following:
- Execute the overall marketing communications strategy
- Develop launch campaigns for new products, services and initiatives
- Execute the PR and advertising plan for products, services and initiatives
- Work with the sales team to create case studies / reference projects
- Monitor and report on customer activities online, ensuring they adhere to brand guidelines, and advise them on best practice
- Manage our social media activity in line with the company’s social media policy
- Manage databases in support of marketing communications activities, such as Pimcore (website data), Across (translation) and Cumulus (digital assets)
- Digital communications using the companies chosen eMarketing platform
- Proofread technical datasheets, literature and other marketing materials
- Develop internal communications activity e.g. company newsletter
- Maintaining records for digital activities e.g. growth, engagement, likes and views
- Maintaining records of media exposures whether electronically or digitally
Other:
- Co-operate and liaise with external agencies and group marketing departments
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
- Adhere to health and safety policy and other requirements relating to care of equipment
- Record, analyse, report and administer according to Schlüter-Systems Ltd and its requirements

- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Full UK drivers licence preferable
- Experience editing video would be advantageous
- Adobe Creative Suite preferable
- Experience of Content Management Systems (CMS) a benefit
Computer Skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Literacy and Numeracy
- Competent writer for business text relating to products and services
Business Skills
- Experience working within a B2B environment is an advantage but not essential
- Experience working within an international company is an advantage but not essential
