Newcells is based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK and serves customers in all the major biotechnology regions including the USA, UK, Europe and Japan. Key to our current and future growth plans is the development of innovative products and services that add value to the early drug discovery processes. We are looking for an exceptional individual to work in our Commercial team to lead on the implementation of the marketing strategy for our growing portfolio of products and services. The position would suit someone with Product Management or Marketing or Marcoms experience and a strong drug discovery, cell biology or life science background.
Reporting To the Chief Commercial Officer.
Summary of Role: The role is to implement a marketing strategy and plan to drive revenue and value growth by differentiating the company’s services and products in its target segments.
Location of Role: The role will be based at Newcells Biotech Ltd HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne, within the thriving Helix Science and Commercial Complex in the centre of the city.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with the Chief Commercial Officer, develops the product and service portfolio by identifying potential new products, determining product specifications, positioning, pricing and marketing communications.
- Proactively manage existing services and product portfolio to maximum revenue, refine the offering and continually ensure differentiation is maintained in the market to drive margins.
- Manage the implementation of the annual marketing plan covering digital, conference and other channels to grow the pipeline of MQL and SQLs. Continually monitor the effectiveness of the elements of the plan to make proposals to maximise ROI of marketing campaigns and activity.
- To work across the technical and commercial teams, through direct interaction with customers to identify opportunities to refine the service or product offering and to identify opportunities for new products or product extensions.
- Work with Sales and Marketing Assistant to coordinate the digital marketing activity and ensure consistency of branding and product positioning.
- Manage website by setting content priorities, facilitating timely deployment, and partnering with agencies to execute required tasks.
- Create content, marketing collateral (USPs, features, benefits and value) and training that enables the account managers to effectively communicate the value of our products and services to a targeted audience.
- Assesses market competition by comparing the company's products to competitors' products as well as tracking competitors marketing and brand positioning activities to help shape thinking and messaging of USPs.
- Ensure costs of goods for products and services are accurately assessed, reviewed and used to develop differentiated pricing strategies.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels.
Other Attributes: The candidate must have a life science background relevant to Newcells product portfolio. Ideally, the candidate will have a BSc/PhD with laboratory and customer facing experience. The candidate should be well-organized, self motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment, and have excellent communication skills.
