MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
This role is part of the Senior Management Team (of four) and has overall responsibility of leading on PR, Marketing communications and policy, plus manage and support our events team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing and Communications
- Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy for Lincolnshire Chamber aligned with the delivery plan; promoting the Chamber as an organisation, its services and its member businesses.
- Oversee all digital marketing activity, ensuring our website platforms are maximised; drive sales of services including membership and events, and increase the effectiveness of marketing to support the strategic delivery plan.
- Act as brand guardian for the Chamber, ensuring communications are on brand, timely and relevant and uphold the values of the Chamber.
- Ensure all marketing and communications activity supports the Chambers excellent external reputation and awareness among stakeholders, Lincolnshire business community and the wider Chamber network.
- Develop and deliver commercially viable marketing support packages for members.
- Measure, evaluate, report and provide recommendations on the effectiveness of all marketing activity for the Chamber Board of Directors and to inform the marketing plan.
- Develop and maintain strategic media relations and partnerships and identify mutually beneficial opportunities with local and regional media agencies.
- Oversee Lincolnshire Food & Drink marketing including Good Taste magazine and the Lincolnshire Food & Drink website.
- Work with the team to support projects, events, business awards and wider Chamber activities through an effective marketing and communications plan.
- Manage the marketing team including appraisals, staff support, training, and mentoring.
Lobbying & Policy
- Support the Chief Executive on lobbying and campaigning issues relevant to member needs through effective communications.
- Oversee the Quarterly Economic Survey – increase survey participation and amplify the sharing of results, develop a strategy for the survey ensuring it is meaningfully used.
- Identify key policy areas and opportunities for which the Chamber can act as the facilitator between member businesses and wider stakeholders to make a difference to Lincolnshire businesses.
Team Management
- Responsible for leading and developing the marketing and events with support for business development and new projects
- Maintaining and developing key relationships with members, partners and other areas
- Implement the Performance Management System and manage performance effectively.
- Coach and develop individual team members to ensure that they carry out their role to the desired level and to consider effective succession planning as part of this process
- Establish a clear communication strategy which outlines the purpose and activities of the team and how these contribute to the wider strategies
- To initiate regular briefings and progress reports for the team and act as the interface to the Board and Chief Executive
- Work closely with head of membership to continually improve customer experience and drive sales revenue
- Attend occasional evening and weekend Chamber activities as required
- Advocate and promoting Chamber membership though a full understanding of member benefits and services.
- Developing and implementing new policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and productivity
- Actively engage in new business development opportunities

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- At least 3 years managing or leading a team with performance management experience gained in a customer focused organisation
- Expert Knowledge of marketing and events delivery
- Experience of developing and driving forward new initiatives
- Knowledge and experience of project management techniques
- Confident with public speaking
- Social media/press live content/interviews
