A bit about you
We're seeking an email marketer to drive acquisition and retention efforts for GroundTruth's fast-growing business lines. You are familiar with creating and managing best-in-class email B2B campaigns at every stage of the customer journey and are obsessed with connecting the dots between marketing activities and revenue. You will turn customer data and insights into actionable strategies, delivering meaningful interactions with our growing customer base. In this role, you'll combine analytical rigor with marketing skills to build and optimize data-driven campaigns to acquire, onboard, activate, and retain customers.
You will:
As our Email Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for expanding the company's current retention and lead generation marketing email programs for its core business (GroundTruth), Addy, a media platform for small businesses, and WeatherBug, a leading weather app. This includes content development, coordinating email design with the creative team, email testing, and email optimization of a range of B2B email marketing strategies.
- Lead, execute, and report on email marketing campaigns that help onboard and grow customers for various business lines
- Oversee email communication from development through execution, including content, relevancy, smart segmentation, and personalization
- Develop data-driven segmented email marketing automation journeys by working closely with Marketing Ops/CRM Manager
- Work closely with our Creative team members to build and modify existing email templates to enhance user experience and engagement
- Methodically test and identify best performing subject lines, content, creative, and messages for each prospect segment, identify levers for improvement and opportunities to optimize ROI
- Develop and work on an A/B testing roadmap (layout, format, frequency, and copy) to improve campaign performance
- Present weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting on campaign performance
- Implement email marketing best practices, including ensuring compliance with data protection requirements such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA
- Manage email data maintenance, briefing, review, code/build, QA, and deployment processes for all email/newsletter campaigns
- Build deeper insights into segmentation through data analysis and behavioral retargeting
- Monitor the marketplace to keep ahead of best practices and put forward perspective on outstanding email marketing opportunities
You Have:

- 3+ years of deep understanding of email marketing experience, including developing email marketing strategies, building email nurtures, and automation journeys
- Deep experience in email marketing in a startup environment, experience with B2B customer acquisition and retention preferred
- Experience working with major ESP platforms (Marketo and HubSpot ideal)
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Must be a good multi-tasker
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent written communication skills are essential
- Startup or agency experience preferred
- Understanding of ad tech space is a plus
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires strong prioritization ability with minimal oversight
