Job description
Are you dedicated and confident, highly organised and full of initiative? Do you want to join a marketing team who work with many of the world’s leading authors?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to begin or grow your career within our talented and pioneering Marketing team at Transworld.

Under our Doubleday imprint we publish award-winning authors including Kate Atkinson, John Boyne, and Markus Zusak. We are passionate, creative and we take pride in our publishing.
The opportunity
You’ll gain invaluable marketing experience, a wide understanding of the publishing process and the opportunity to work closely with a variety of departments. You’ll learn first-hand how we approach and execute marketing campaigns, drive demand, work with retailers and consumers and create magic. We pride ourselves on innovation and put our readers at the heart of everything we do.
In this exciting role, you’ll be:
- Communicating with other departments (Editorial, PR, Sales, Design, Production etc)
- Demonstrating creativity, coming up with new ideas and solutions to support the team in campaign planning, and taking the initiative to make things happen on time and to a high standard
- Supporting the Marketing Director with team administration on a day-to-day basis and managing their diary effectively
- Scheduling and managing meetings for a wide range of stakeholders
What you’ll bring
Your ingenuity, organisation and attention to detail will be called upon daily. You will be a true team player who is able to keep things running smoothly in a fast-paced environment when your colleagues are juggling various priorities. You'll be proactive in your work and will always be looking for new ways to work more efficiently and effectively.
You don’t need to have set foot in a publishing house before or have a degree to grab our attention, but confidence in using Microsoft Office is essential. You’ll also bring with you a curiosity to learn and to think, see and do things differently. We want to hear from different voices throughout the UK and see fresh perspectives.
How to apply
If you’d like to apply, please submit your CV and a Cover Letter with your response to the following question by 23:59 on Sunday 4th June.
- As part of your cover letter, please can you share a marketing campaign you have seen recently that you liked and explain why you think it was successful? The example that you use doesn’t have to be publishing specific (in no more than 150 words).

This is where disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the role can opt in to get to the next recruitment stage.
