Job description:
The marketing assistant will assist the marketing team in delivering multi-media direct marketing and advertising campaigns for the housing portfolio of conferences, exhibitions and awards. The candidate would not just be responsible for working on the planning and delivery of the events but will also be encouraged to bring new and innovative ideas to a dynamic team environment to improve the number and quality of delegates and visitors attending the events. The candidate should have strong organisational and communication skills as well as good attention to detail and the ability to produce good quality work within deadlines. Job duties & responsibilities:
Campaign Management:
· Assist the marketing team in planning and implementing the overall marketing campaigns for all events in the housing portfolio, including digital marketing, advertising, design, PR and media partnerships
· Update, maintain and edit the event websites as and when needed ensuring all content is up to date and new content is added regularly
· Work with the marketing team to maintain the marketing budgets for all events
· Developing and implementing highly effective social and digital campaigns for all events
· Coordinating design, mailing and printing of various collateral
· Source relevant stock imagery and create basic designs using design tools
· Draft email campaigns and any other marketing copy
· Ensure all copywriting and imagery is on par with the brand guidelines
· Work with various external suppliers, used to support the marketing objectives
· Management of databases and list development: curating lists of desirable target attendees in different segments, working with the digital team on how we develop this data
· Build and maintain a high level of industry knowledge and stay abreast of new trends
· Managing pre-show and post event attendee enquiries and maintaining a high level of customer service
· Work closely with the sales team to ensure that all exhibitors, sponsors and partners are fully supported and that their presence at the event is being promoted
· Assist the marketing team in undertaking all onsite duties such as live social media postings, steward briefings, etc.
· Work closely with colleagues in other areas of the housing portfolio to maximise cross marketing opportunities at our own events, within publications, and e-communications.
· Perform any other duties as commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Analysis and Reporting:
· Analyse the effectiveness of campaigns, highlight areas of concern, and implement new innovations
· To produce delegate and sponsor post event analysis and evaluate media effectiveness
· Timely production of post-show reports and ad hoc reports for meetings and presentations
· Attend regular internal meetings, to report on activities undertaken and suggest new initiatives to engage with our audience
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Behaviours:
· Hard working with a ‘can do attitude’
· Events marketing experience is desirable but not essential
· Ability to meet deadlines and work comfortably under pressure, managing multiple projects
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
· Excellent planning and organisational skills
· Strong communication skills and attention to detail – excellent copy-writing skills a plus
· Must have the ability to negotiate with suppliers, and maintain professional internal and external relationships
· Energetic, enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated
· Excellent attention to detail
