Marketing Assistant – Job Description
Working to an action plan agreed with the BID Manager, assist with the execution of the BID Business Plan, supporting the BID teams and ensuring the cohesive delivery of all BID activity.
Job Role:
You will be a key part of the BID team, working with the entire BID team to ensure the outward promotion of BID activity and of Halifax as a town centre destination.
You will need to be a strong communicator and team player with a great work ethic. You will need to have a can do attitude, excellent attention to detail, be able to multi task and prioritise your workload.
The role of the Marketing Assistant, as part of Halifax Business Improvement District team, is to promote Halifax as a destination to a wide range of audiences. This role is also vital to ensuring all levy paying businesses are fully aware of the value of Halifax Business Improvement District and see the return on their investment as levy payers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To understand the offer within the BID area, to include businesses, partners, events, street infrastructures etc and keep updated with key partnership knowledge.
Engage with businesses and stakeholders in the BID area, collate and record relevant information, nurture the relationships and keep them appraised of BID activities and provide feedback to them following specific initiatives on their behalf.
To communicate information to members of the public and deal with enquiries in an efficient and professional manner in person and by post, email, social media and phone.
Assist in the delivery of events in the District and attend meetings related to such activities at the direction of the Project Manager.
Assist in the organising of promotional events and traditional or digital campaigns and attend them to facilitate their success.
To promote BID activity and engagement opportunities to levy payers, encouraging participation at all possible opportunities.
Work with the BID team to collect and analyse data of all activity and engagement with BID initiatives, gathering information on the value added to Halifax from a visitor and business perspective.
Work closely with the BID team, gathering and creating content for digital and print distribution.
Assisting the BID Manager and team with marketing tasks including creation of newsletters and other information for businesses and members of the public.
Regular scheduled and adhoc social media posting, in line with BID campaigns
Compose and post online content on the BID website, working with BID businesses to promote their activity
Using website analytics to ascertain the effectiveness of ongoing campaigns and understand the way users interact with the site, in line with BID KPIs.
Composition and distribution of press releases, in line with BID KPIs.
Work with BID Manager and our partner designers to create marketing literature (brochures, newspapers etc).
Have responsibility for the Halifax loyalty offer, curation and collection of offers, in line with BID projects and initiatives, working with the Business Liaison and Hub Teams for promoting the shop local messaging.
To liaise with key partner agencies where appropriate to assist in the delivery of the above tasks.
Any other duties, as deemed appropriate by the BID Manager or Board of Directors.
This role is a 30 hour a week role, with a salary of £11 an hour.
Shifts will include covering one Saturday and one Sunday working in our Discover Halifax Hub on a five week rota pattern. Your rota pattern can be negotiated with the Office Manager.
This position is mainly office/ town centre based but there will be an option to work from home if the business needs allow it
