The Shipowners’ Club is a mutual insurance association based in the City of London. We offer Protection & Indemnity (P&I), Legal Costs Cover and associated insurances to smaller and specialist vessel owners, operators and charterers around the world. Building on over 160 years of experience, the Shipowners’ Club provides tailor-made insurance packages for each operator according to their particular need.

We are looking for a Marketing Assistant (Apprentice) to come and join us! The successful candidate will work as part of the Marketing team to support the delivery of a high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join and learn from an experienced Marketing team, whilst undertaking a Marketing Apprenticeship with us.

This position will be permanent, full time and based in our London office and the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to complete the Level 3 Marketing Assistant Apprenticeship whilst working with a friendly and welcoming marketing team.

We also have a hybrid working model (minimum 2 days in the office/ 3 days remote).

Overall responsibility of the Role:

To assist in the delivery of the marketing strategy, promoting Shipowners’ products and services, and providing first class marketing support to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To support the Marketing team with the co-ordination of marketing campaigns across all marketing mediums (including print, web and social platforms).
  • To assist in the production of a variety of corporate publications.
  • To assist with the proofing and editing of general editorial content.
  • To monitor social media interaction and engage as appropriate.
  • To work with the wider business to identify opportunities for event sponsorship, involvement, and generation to fulfil business needs.
  • To use marketing metrics to analyse the effectiveness of events.
  • To assist with the implementation of internal communications across all marketing mediums (including web, email and events).
  • To manage the ordering of promotional materials and marketing publications and to ensure stock levels are monitored and maintained.
  • To manage the staff listings on the Club’s website, ensuring they are always accurate and up to date.
  • To support the HR department in the publication of staff communications.
  • To provide administrative support for the department.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have GCSE English and Maths 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent
  • Have two A-Levels A* - C or equivalent
  • Have experience of MS Office
  • Be approachable, friendly and professional in written and verbal communication
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Have a passion for creativity
  • Be a team player and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Be flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn!
