Macfarlane Group PLC is the UK’s largest packaging distributor, and our Head Office are seeking to hire a Marketing Apprentice to undertake an advanced marketing framework (NVQ) course whist providing support to our multi-site business from our central marketing team based in Coventry. The Marketing Apprentice Role
We are now recruiting for a Marketing Apprentice based at our Head Office in Coventry (or remotely). This is a dynamic and varied role where the candidate will work with the established marketing team to implement marketing plans and provide marketing support to our sales teams nationwide. Collecting and organizing market research data
Supporting the sales team in the development of customer presentations using PowerPoint
Working with the marketing team to plan, organize and execute marketing campaigns and events across multiple channels
Supporting the implementation of internal communication plans including managing our intranet and training materials
Analysis and reporting on marketing data and key performance indicators
Supporting the lead generation and qualification process, including understanding our Customer Relationship Management system and learning how to log inbound leads; to include outgoing telephone calls to customers and prospects of Macfarlane Packaging
The job will comprise of extensive on-the-job training and the successful candidate be exposed to all areas of the marketing mix. You will be working closely with an experienced marketing team and will also have regular interaction with the wider sales organization and other central functions such as procurement and human resources.
The initial contract of employment will be apprenticeship based (Level 3 Marketing Assistant standard) with an 18-month duration/contractual commitment and working hours are set at 37.5 per week spread across Monday to Friday (9:30am-5:30pm). Some travel to other locations within our multi-site business may be required.
Do you have the correct profile?
We are genuinely open minded to welcoming interest from a wide range of individuals for this opportunity, provided there is a genuine desire/interest in beginning a marketing career and working within a professional environment. Any previous experience or knowledge gained relating to marketing would of course be advantageous but isn’t essential. You will certainly be a team player, with good communication skills and attention to detail and a proactive with a “can do” attitude… and you will of course have a genuine thirst for learning new skills and acquiring new knowledge. An interest in or experience of design skills, photoshop, video editing is desirable but not essential.
Desired qualifications
Five or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at A-C level which must include mathematics & English (or be willing to improve math’s/English grades as part of the training journey).
