We offer expert veterinary care, rescue and rehoming services, programmes in the community and guidance and support to improve the lives of dogs and cats in need.
We are recruiting an Marketing and Audience Engagement Manager who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare, to build our understanding of our core target audiences and attract many more people to support us through creative marketing campaigns and publications.
This is a central role within Mayhew’s marketing and communications team who will work closely with the Head of Engagement to manage a range of essential projects including brand guardianship, audience research, print publications, advertising and marketing campaign planning. The role will work closely with fundraising colleagues so experience of and comfort with cross-team working is essential.
The post holder will be joining Mayhew at an exciting time. Ambitious plans are in development to further grow our visibility to support Mayhew in delivering its corporate ambitions over the coming years in order to help more dogs, cats and people in our communities. The role is ideal for an organised, creative individual, well versed in data and insight, who is looking to lead on an ambitious programme of work for a growing organisation.

Our Marketing and Audience Engagement Manager must be an experienced and resourceful communications professional who can inspire trust and enthusiasm across the organisation.
Generally, you will:
- Provide leadership and support to the Head of Engagement as part of the MarComms management team
- Deliver against our awareness targets and maximise the impact of our communications using data and insight
- Build a robust understanding of our current and potential supporters and share that knowledge with stakeholders of all levels
- Drive forward new marketing campaigns and initiatives to reach new audiences
- Develop and implement ambitious onward user journeys, integrating with fundraising
- Manage the production of a range of key publications and marketing materials to ensure we are telling our story consistently and engagingly
- Collaborate proactively across the organisation to find, develop and share stories that will inspire support
- Be a proactive and diligent project manager, delivering first class stakeholder communications to inspire others.
To be successful in this role, you need relevant experience in:
- A marketing role in a charity of comparable breadth and scope with proven success in growing supporters
- Being a great project manager and successfully managing multiple, often competing projects through to delivery, including print publications
- Identifying and implementing proactive initiatives and campaigns to reach and attract new audiences
- Reporting and monitoring success so as to adapt and refine marketing projects and products, including managing audience research
- Successfully motivating and managing people and agencies on projects.
