About The Role

From a Bradford market stall to the UK’s fourth largest supermarket we are proud to be the Yorkshire food retailer serving customers across the UK over almost 500 stores and an online home delivery service. Our business is mainly food & grocery and, uniquely, we source & process most of the fresh food that we sell through our own manufacturing facilities.
To deliver outstanding customer service to all our customers through great service across the Market Street counters (Deli, Oven Fresh & Pie Shop, Fresh to Go, Bakery & Cake Shop). Effectively communicating and coordinating the team of colleagues in the counters, ensuring a focus outstanding customer experience.
As a Market Street - Team leader it is your job to:
  • Ensure our Market Street Counter standards are high through maintenance and improvements
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through delivering our customer service practices
    Multi-skill colleagues across the counters and ensure they have the tools to do their job
  • Create a supportive and performance driven department culture where achievements are recognised and rewarded, and colleagues can contribute ideas for improvement
  • Identify and support the development of talent
  • Work in partnership with Managers and colleagues to create and deliver departmental sales and
    profit plans that contribute to the overall achievement of the store plan
  • Minimise waste and markdowns
  • Complete procedures and tasks to company specification, including logbooks checks

About You

You will need to have:
  • Experience of delivering exceptional customer service
    The passion to build relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Experience in developing and leading teams, and coaching to build competence and confidence for high performance
  • Strong operational and technical knowledge of fresh food, with the ability to support colleagues with issues
  • The desire to use own initiative to help support the resolution of customer queries
  • An understanding of how others want to be treated and behave in a respectful way
  • The ability to look for the best way to do a task and be confident to share views to improve Morrisons
  • Experience of listening to internal and external customers to understand their views
  • Willingness to receive feedback regularly to understand own performance and take action to be even better at my job
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage own and colleagues’ workload
