Job description

My client, a successful consumer business in Manchester, is recruiting an experienced Sales & Marketing Analyst to cover a 12 month maternity contract (hybrid). If you have a strong sales and marketing analytical background preferably within consumer goods/retail sector and you are able to commit to an FTC role with an immediate start, then please get in touch!

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role will act as the key interface between marketing and sales functions to provide essential data collection and develop product insights to support the business strategic focus areas, ensuring growth and profit targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse and report on market trends, competitor activity, and related sub-category sales performance, to support the strategic development of the portfolio.

Understand distribution channels, customers and consumers intimately to deliver insights to brand growth.

Provide quarterly competitor insight reporting and analysis and present findings to the marketing team.

Work with finance to regular reporting on sub-category level SKU profitability, identifying problem areas to address such as margin erosion, and cost pressures on products and customers.

Maintain EPOS master database.

Produce and distribute relevant highlight/insight reports to sales and marketing.

Support Brand Managers on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and SKU rationalization process of existing portfolio.

Work alongside the Brand Managers to identify new opportunities, service improvements, and cost reductions within entry and exit product strategies.

Track SKU changes within the portfolio.

Support customer range changes with range analysis insights.

Promotional calendar programme tracking and performance analysis.

Tracker to include brand and retailer level campaigns.

Presenting compelling sales arguments to customers alongside the Brand Managers and sales to share objectives and harmonise customer promotion plans.

Support A&P budget management and ROI delivery.

Other Ad hoc projects to support the marketing team

Skills Required:

  • Must have recent experience working in a similar Analyst role (sales/marketing)
  • Knowledge of consumer products/retail sector is desirable
  • Experience of using EPOS is essential
  • Analytical with great attention to detail
  • Organised with excellent time management
  • Commercially minded
  • Task orientated
  • Good presentation skills
  • Can manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Team player/ collaborative
  • Communicates effectively
  • Excel, PowerPoint, Word competence
  • Available immediately to commit to this 12 month FTC

Salary £37.5k basic, negotiable, depending on experience

35 hour week, flexible working, early finish Friday 1pm

25 days holiday + bank holidays

Pension 6% employer, 4% employee contribution

Hybrid – 2 days at home, 3 in office
