Marine Services Officer, City Docks Section, Growth and Regeneration
Providing an excellent career opportunity and reporting directly to the Marine Services Manager/ Harbour Master, we are looking for an excellent team player to work within the City Docks Marine Services Section. You will be working a shift system, which includes daily tidal operations, directing vessel movements and berthing, waterway operations, and water event management within the City Docks.
You will be involved with the health, safety and welfare of service users working within a multi-disciplined workforce and you will ensure compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code, Byelaws and statutory functions of the City Docks.
Within the Growth and Regeneration directorate the City Docks Section is responsible for the City Docks Estate as Harbour Authority and manages the statutory functions for Bristol City Docks and the Floating Harbour.
There will be tidal shift and weekend working ensuring a Harbour Authority presence and continuity of service to the many users of the harbour for which allowances will be paid.
You should be able to demonstrate proven experience of the marine industry.
You will:
- Have demonstrable experience of working in a nautical background,
- Have RYA Level 2 Power Boat qualification
- Computer Literate
- Knowledge of Marine Leisure Business
