Learning and Development Trainer - Analyst

YOUR IMPACT

Are you passionate about customer service? Do you have experience in delivering and designing training across large organisations? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic L&D Trainer to join our Learning and Development team. As an L&D Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of our employees. You will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within Marcus.

Our division also provides critical operations and user experience design to ensure business flows smoothly when customers come to us. From day one, team members play a vital role in upholding the three customer support principles of customer focus, process innovation and risk management.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs)to identify training needs and develop comprehensive learning objectives.
  • Design and develop engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, and job aids, to meet the identified learning needs.
  • Deliver training programs through various channels, such as classroom sessions, virtual classrooms, webinars, and workshops, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and engagement.
  • Facilitate training sessions, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, and adapting delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and participant needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback surveys, and other evaluation methods, and make necessary improvements to enhance training outcomes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in learning technologies to continuously enhance the quality and relevance of training programs.
  • Collaborate with HR and departmental leaders to support the onboarding of new employees and the ongoing development of existing staff members.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to employees to reinforce learning and promote skill application in the workplace.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of career development plans and succession planning initiatives.
  • Maintain training records and reports, tracking training participation, effectiveness, and impact on employee performance.
  • Exception in role requires frequent travel between Marcus UK offices in Milton Keynes and Birmingham, with occasional travel to London.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other e-learning platforms.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and analyze data to measure training effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience as an L&D Trainer or similar role, with a track record of designing and delivering effective training programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of customer service experience and fundamentals of training
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Learning and Development role – delivery and/or design
  • Product knowledge across Banking and Savings within retail banking
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and other software to deliver high quality materials
  • Customer service / Training experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional certifications in training, instructional design and/or learning and development
