Job summary
Do you want to learn more about Engineering but feel you don’t yet have the skills?
As a Manufacturing Trainee, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience, and be creative whilst developing a new career in our forward-thinking Advanced Manufacturing Facility.
You’ll be provided with all the training, support, and guidance you need as you learn the skills to enable you to help manufacture products which play an integral part in protecting national security.

We have opportunities in the following teams:
Printed Circuit Manufacture (PCM)
In joining this exciting and developing team you will learn not only what it takes to manufacture high quality printed circuit boards but how we do it for the community that protects our national security. You will be introduced to all aspects of manufacture utilising industry leading technology along with an ever-challenging desire to improve our capability to the very highest standards.
Additive Manufacturing
Working within this team you will learn to use our range of commercial 3D printing machines, daily tasks will include the loading, operating, re-stocking and preventative maintenance which is vital in ensuring we meet our delivery requirements.
Mechanical Manufacturing
As a member of the Sheet Metal or Projects team you will have the opportunity to gain the broad range of mechanical skills that will be needed to develop your competencies in these areas of manufacturing, For Sheet Metal the training will be focused on the cutting, forming and joining of Sheet Metal using the latest industrial technology whilst Projects will focus on the precision machining, assembly and inspection of a range of mechanical products.
Electronics Manufacturing
As a member of the team, you will gain experience (with the aid of an experienced mentor) in all 4 areas of Electronics manufacturing (Surface Mount Technology, Wiring and Assembly, Production Test and Electrical Safety) before choosing an area to specialise in. You will gain a broad range of skills. From the operation of automated pick and place machines to assembling and building final products to using a variety of test equipment and techniques to prove a product works correctly to validating that the product is safe and compliant to use.
Manufacturing Logistics
Working in this team you will be at the centre of our manufacturing facility; you will help control our inventory and deliver products to our end users. This role is vital in keeping our Manufacturing teams moving.
