We are proud to be supporting this boutique scientific company in finding a new Scientific Manufacturing Technician.
The Company is part of a large global organisation and is responsible for the manufacturing and distributing of’ blood transfusion kits, diagnostic kits, blood reagents, enzymes and biochemical and laboratory equipment.
This role will ideally suit someone who has a bio degree (or equivalent) and has worked in the laboratory scientific laboratory/scientific/pharma ideally manufacturing but will consider R&D.
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
- Planning and manufacture of a wide range of products, reagents and intermediates
- This may include aseptic filling, filtering, aliquoting, labelling and storing of all products and materials
- Quality control of materials prior to use/release.
- Inventory maintenance and management of stock reagents, manufacturing items and associated components
- General laboratory duties including cleaning, maintenance and calibration of equipment, washing up glassware, ensuring general laboratory upkeep etc
- Review of all manufacturing SOP’s and updating to ensure full completion, traceability and auditability to the appropriate standards
- Resolving manufacturing concerns and responding rapidly to requests for information / issue resolution
- Updating and maintaining relevant databases, technical information, safety data-sheets, IFU’s etc.
- Responsibility for maintenance and adherence to the relevant Quality standards (ISO 9001, 13485 etc)
- Prepare and maintain Risk/Safety/COSHH assessments for all manufacturing activities
- Perform additional duties at the request of the General Manager in line with advancing a specific project, process or the aims and goals of the Company

What qualifications/skills do you need?
Graduate Qualification in Biomedical Sciences / Blood Group Serology
Qualification in Phlebotomy
Experience of working in a scientific/pharma production environment
One year’s certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of educated and experience
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Good keyboard skills
What does the role offer you?
This role offers a salary of £30 to £35K plus 25 days’ holiday, opportunity to join benefits scheme and contributory pension scheme.
Hours of work are 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and finish at 4pm on a Friday.
