Manufacturing Technician
Team: Inobloc
Working to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Working with: Production Team
What will this role contribute to the Company?
This role will be based at our subsidiary manufacturing facility at Inbloc Ronan Valley industrial Estate in Magherafelt which is Northern Ireland’s first indigenous dedicated PPE manufacturing facility.
You will have responsibility to evaluate, maintain and improve performance related to production equipment and processes, and identifying process improvements and corrective actions. Working with managers, supervisors and technicians to develop, implement and maintain performance and quality measures.
What we will ask of you:
This role requires a technical and mechanical understanding of production machines/equipment on the manufacturing floor with an emphasis on maintaining quality control and productivity with metrics. You will also be required to implement and carry out planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and mentor operators.
· Developing safe working methods in accordance with good engineering practice, safety, and applicable regulations.
· Ownership of process equipment performance – ensure equipment is performing as expected by carrying out the necessary setting and adjustment.
· Carry out maintenance (both Planned and Unplanned) associated with the upkeep of both process and supporting equipment.
· Assisting with developing and implementing quality standards and control systems.
· Investigating and troubleshooting product or production process issues.
· Developing process related corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
· Collaborating with operations management to develop and implement controls and improvements.
· Assisting the management team with other tasks that are deemed commensurate with role.
· And as with all roles at Bloc Blinds and Inobloc, your flexibility and co-operation is both expected and appreciated.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with previous relevant experience, who has worked with a team, in a manufacturing environment, and who has sound knowledge and experience of practical mechanical application. Alongside this you will be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience required for this technical role:
Essential:
· 1+ years’ experience in a high-volume production environment.
· 1+ years’ experience directly working with/on manufacturing equipment
· Strong technical ability to troubleshoot and improve process equipment and processes.
· Ability to use own initiative to determine root cause of issues and provide solutions to aid production
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
· Ability to work shifts and additional hours to support production needs.
Preferred:
· Technical or engineering qualification such as ONC, BTEC or City and Guilds.
· Experience in a medical device manufacturing or similar environment, including clean rooms and FMCG.
· Experience with risk management tools such as PFMEA
· Quality standard experience such (such as ISO13485 or ISO 9001 and or internal quality auditing.
