The Business
Building Systems UK (A Tata Steel enterprise) is an international business with nearly 50 years’ experience in the development and manufacture of pre-finished steel products for the Construction Industry. The products manufactured by the business are applied in many sectors/finished products including building envelope (roof cladding and wall cladding), structural floor & roof decking, fabrications, and other specialist applications.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Building Systems UK in Shotton. The Manufacturing Team Member plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of processing machinery and material handling equipment. They are responsible for delivering high levels of customer service by operating machinery to good standards of workmanship. This includes recognizing relevant product ranges for efficient material selection and processing, supporting maintenance activities to optimize productivity, and deploying continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques to maximize machine availability. Team Members also actively participate in personal development plans, impart knowledge to others, and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental, and corporate policies. The role requires strong teamwork and a commitment to achieving optimal performance.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the Manufacturing Team Member role should have a strong background in operating processing machinery and material handling equipment, prioritizing health and safety at all times. They should possess a thorough understanding of the need for effective health, safety, and environmental practices, demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment. The candidate should be flexible and adaptable, capable of following working instructions to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Attention to detail is crucial, as they will be responsible for checking and adhering to standards while performing their duties. The candidate should also possess excellent teamwork skills, actively collaborating with others to achieve common goals and encouraging the contribution of fellow team members. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities are essential, enabling them to gather information, analyze situations, and make informed decisions in line with established procedures.
