Manufacturing Team Lead
Reporting to: Manufacturing Director Hours of Work: 42.5 hours per week 7.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday Business SummaryOur client is an automotive specialist servicing all aspects of the vintage car community. Operating for over 20 years, and for the last ten years from their site in Liss, the business trades on three key strengths: 1) Parts manufacture and supply (boasting the world's largest stock holding of client parts) 2) Workshop specialising in servicing, restoring and rally preparation 3) Vehicle sales and sourcing Role Summary
- Day to day management of the CNC and toolroom manufacturing resource
- Workload scheduling, internal parts movements, inspection & quality control within an ISO9001 environment
- Support manufacture of components and assemblies using manual machining & bench fitting skills as required.
- Support inventory control of workshop activity
Key Responsibilities
- Working to agreed manufacturing priorities and production schedules
- Support vehicle workshop with overhaul & modification of parts and assemblies
- Ensure quality standards of manufactured items are adhered to
- Liaise with manufacturing director to identify priorities
- Complete all necessary production control records & timesheets
- Identify and assist with purchasing requirements, expedite purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules
- Support manufacturing director to validate purchasing decisions ie; cost and lead time
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensure Health and Safety regulations are met, and safe working practices are adhered to
Experience and Required Skills
- Supervisory experience, with a flexible, responsive & collaborative approach
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- MS Office suite experience; Outlook, Excel, Word
- Expertise in toolroom techniques
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and visual quality
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues, with a proactive can-do attitude
Desirable Experience
- Time served apprenticeship trained machinist, fitter or toolmaker
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in similar role
