The Role:
In this varied, hands-on role reporting into the Head of Manufacturing, you will direct and manage a number of production processes, propose and implement changes that will enhance our manufacturing processes and improve financial performance and have overall responsibility for all aspects of health, safety, environment and wellbeing within the departments.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that health, safety and environmental policies are followed as per business requirements
- Ensuring products are produced on time, are of high quality and are dispatched on time to meet customer requirements
- Tight control of raw material and finished goods inventory
- Monitoring the production processes and implementing schedule changes as required
- Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs
- Continuously look to increase productivity, manage yield, demonstrate cost-effectiveness and improve financial performance
- Optimise plant uptime
- Close monitoring of operating budgets ensuring that costs are always kept under control and aligned to the financial plan
- Responsibility for regular measuring and reporting on all resource use in the departments (people, processes, wastes and energy) and taking actions to increase efficiency and reduce consumption and waste and presenting these measures to the senior management team
- Ensure departmental capital expenditure projects are progressed in a timely manner to a high standard with sound justification
The Person:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our production management team in a business that is continuously investing in our people, processes and plant. The successful candidate will have proven competence and experience working at a senior level in a comparable manufacturing environmental, preferably within a metals or heavy industry sector. You should have experience of developing and implementing manufacturing strategies and plans, cost-effectiveness initiatives and meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs. You will be an effective leader, who can demonstrate real achievement in similar roles.
