This exciting role within the commercial team reports to the Go to Market Manager; you will help support developing the category strategy blue for the category squad. Combining customer and competitor insight along with financial imperatives to ensure the category squad develops a strategy to both maximise CSAT and EBIT. The role will act as a lynchpin between all functional representatives in the squad, pulling together annual, quarterly, and in-season initiatives and activities to maximise performance. You will also arm the category buyer to negotiate adequate supplier funding support.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Annual category plan - Supports the GTM manager to ensure the Gaming team adequately understands the gaming trends, including customer’s needs, competitors, range performance, threats and opportunities, to support the development of the annual category plan
- Customer blueprint - Supports the GTM Manager to create the customer blueprint for the annual category strategy, customer shopping journey, category proposition and the ‘go to market’ plans
- Trade Plan - Work with the GTM manager and the promotion planning and brand & marketing function to execute Gaming plans for key events e.g., new launches, black Friday, Easter, gifting etc.
- Support the Gaming team in landing all major initiatives, including major new product launches, new merchandising solutions and changes to the customer journey online and in-store, liaising with relevant supporting departments to deliver right first time
- Bringing appropriate analytics and insight from the online and customer team to support decision making related to day-to-day trading, events and promotions and range changes to ensure the category are making relevant data driven decisions and plans
- Co-ordinate responses to major marketing briefs across the category in appropriate templates including TV deals, home page nominations, deal lists, CRM requirements, overarching promotions e.g. trade in
- Work with peer groups to lead cross-functional delivery for all things related to customer journey including PoS, Ticket and online execution briefs
Required experience/qualifications:
- Good knowledge of the gaming industry, being a gamer is a requirement
- Good numerical and analytical skills to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit and cash
- Inter-personal and communication skills, capable of working cross functionally to achieve the desired results
- Customer champion with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs
- Good working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as MS Office workflow tools
- Marketing/Merchandising/Retail/Business Degree
