We currently have an opportunity at our UK Base Plant in Golborne (WA3) for a Manufacturing Manager to join us on a permanent basis to support the Plant Manager in leading the day-to-day operations within our Production department. This individual will lead continuous manufacturing excellence, maintain industry safety standards, achieve quality targets, support cost reduction and savings, and also will support an environment that encourages high performance and development opportunities.
This will be a succession opportunity within the business and will ultimately move into our Plant Senior Management Team - suitable for a driven and people focused individual pursuing growth and development within a Global FMCG business.
As Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for:
- Lead the manufacturing teams across all profit centres across Extrusion Blow Moulding, Stretch Blow Moulding, Injection moulding and Compression moulding technologies.
- Drive ALPLA’s Operational excellence program.
- Lead and champion Health & Safety across the site.
- As per the succession plan you will spend time need to gain an understanding of all technologies and profit centres along with an advanced understanding of all support functions within the Plant.
- Responsible for ensuring production targets are met in line with customer demands.
- Customer focused approach, ensuring that any customer related problems are effectively responded to.
- Proactively develop the Shift Managers and Team Leaders operational knowledge.

Education / Skills / Experience
- Experienced Manager at a Senior level within in an FMCG environment, ideally plastics or Packaging.
- A natural leader with the ability effectively lead, coach and engage people at all levels within the organisation
- Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement and associated techniques
- Able to think laterally and is open to new ideas and change, experienced with Change Management
- Strong strategic planning and organisational abilities
- Comfortable analysing data to track performance and prioritise action plans
- Able to build and maintain excellent and influential relationships across all levels within the business, with a demonstrated ability to operate in a cross functional environment prioritising business needs
- H&S legislation knowledge e.g, IOSH Managing safely
- Experience of working with Trade unions (preferred)
- Financially and commercially astute
- IT Literate – MS Office

Salary circa £50,000 - £60,000 - Days based role – Monday to Friday
