The role is based at Wolverhampton, and this is the home of Actuation Systems at Collins Aerospace. Actuation Systems are the leading experts in fly-by-wire, hydraulic and electro-hydraulic actuation design, Collins Aerospace offers a complete line of actuation products that enhance aircraft performance and reduce pilot workload.
We are looking to recruit a small number of apprentices who can support Actuation Systems with the effective development of new manufacturing technology.
After completing a robust recruitment process our apprentices will be supported to embark on their career journey, throughout which they will receive a highly competitive remuneration and flexible benefits package.
You will spend your first year attending In-Comm Training Centre in Telford where you will spend time learning basic engineering skills in Mechanical Engineering. For the remaining time you will work at on site at Wolverhampton whilst undertaking invaluable work experience, where you will learn the basic principles and under pinning knowledge needed for your career.
The first year on site, you will spend time on the shop floor in both our machining and assembly and test facilities before specialising in your chosen area. For the remainder of the programme, you will develop the skills and knowledge by completing Manufacturing Engineering projects under the supervision of our ME Leads.
We are looking for high calibre students who:
- Have achieved a minimum of Grade 6 (or equivalent) or above in Maths, English and Science.
- Brilliant communicators with a wide range of audiences.
- Super organised with excellent attention to detail
- Passion to work in aerospace and a real desire to make a difference to our customers and our business
- Demonstrates a passion for hands on engineering
