The Role:
The Senior Visualization Designer will support our engineers to deliver compelling visual storytelling on engineering concepts and details for Thornton Tomasetti’s clients. To achieve this, you will work closely with three overseas graphic designers while partnering with the project team on graphics delivery. Supervise, train, and mentor the in-house artists on graphical technique, visual storytelling, and production skills.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with the project team to develop a full understanding of the framework and technical details of graphics support in order to create high-level technical images and animations.
Develop 3D models based on importing CAD and 3D modeling and from 2D drawings, sketches and photographs, animations, and renderings for use in reports, presentations, demonstratives, publications, and potentially web/social media.
Deliver physics-based animations on time to tight deadlines.
Mentor a growing team in the graphics technique and ensure the team has the relevant knowledge growth to deliver the requirements of the project.
Requirements:
Three or more years of experience in creating physics-based, high-level technical illustrations and animations.
Eye for detail, color, composition, illumination, and POV is essential.
Fluency in AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Vray, Revit Structure and Architecture, Adobe Photoshop, and AfterEffects. Experience with McNeel Rhino Google Sketchup, Cloud rendering, Adobe Premiere, and Google Earth a plus, as well as spreadsheet and database familiarity.
Experience successfully supervising and nurturing a multilingual team as well as working remotely with subordinates and supervisors.
Good English skills, especially in absorbing and communicating complex technical information.
Effectively manage client expectations.
