Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
• Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
• Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
• Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
• Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Design and work with new automation projects including but not limited to set-up welding robots, troubleshoot, and understand robotics
• Travel - 25% to other manufacturing sites

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

Education and Experience

• Engineering degree is required
• Minimum 2-year experience in manufacturing engineering required.
• Previous automation experience/exposure is preferred but not required. (school project or work experience counts)
• Experience with programming and troubleshooting PLC’s is preferred but not required
• Must have working experience with 3D CAD, Autodesk Inventor is Preferred.
• Must possess technical, problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a welding environment is preferred
• Must be teamwork oriented.
• Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Must possess an attitude of safety in all aspects of the job
• Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and power tools is required.
• Ability to weld is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in proximity to loud equipment.
• Must be able to moves/lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment most of the day.
