Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
- Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Design and work with new automation projects including but not limited to set-up welding robots, troubleshoot, and understand robotics
- Travel - 25% to other manufacturing sites
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
Education and Experience
- Engineering degree is required
- Minimum 2-year experience in manufacturing engineering required.
- Previous automation experience/exposure is preferred but not required. (school project or work experience counts)
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting PLC’s is preferred but not required
- Must have working experience with 3D CAD, Autodesk Inventor is Preferred.
- Must possess technical, problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a welding environment is preferred
- Must be teamwork oriented.
- Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must possess an attitude of safety in all aspects of the job
- Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and power tools is required.
- Ability to weld is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to moves/lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment most of the day.
