As the Manufacturing Engineer at PEG you will be a part of the team researching, developing, designing, programing and implementing tooling, fixturing, manufacturing processes, and automation.
Precision Electronic Glass is a subcomponent manufacturer of custom precision glass components. Everything we make starts from a piece of glass tubing or rod.

Summary/ Objective
Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for all manufacturing activities under the direction of the director of engineering.
This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, develop, design, program, and implement automated systems that increase throughput, meet customer needs, and improve profitability without compromising safety or quality
- Create detailed road maps to guide automation projects from conception to final implementation
- Maintenance and upgrade existing automation technology, machinery, tooling, fixtures, etc..
- Develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment
- Participate in new equipment research and installation
- Provide training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new or upgraded equipment
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality to support achievement of business results
- Collaborates with fellow engineers, production, and quality on R&D projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements
- Work closely with production to resolve issues and provide technical support
- Develop, design, and implement tooling, fixtures, equipment, and machinery
- Utilize Solid Works to create customer, vendor and PEG drawings
- Participates in the hiring of outside contractors and directs them as needed
- Estimates project costs and time necessary for completion.
- Estimates processes, rates, and materials for new items and RFQ’s
- Maintains a neat and safe work environment
- Other duties as directed and assigned

- Extensive knowledge of glass and its properties
- Possesses strong computer skills and able to employ Solidworks & MS Office suite
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to perform the duties of the job
Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years experience as a manufacturing engineer preferred
- BS in Engineering or equivalent required
- Experience designing tools and fixtures preferred
- Experience with the design and implementation of automated systems, especially as related to manufacturing
- Experience utilizing Solidworks & MS Office suite required
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
While preforming the duties of this job the employee will have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, walking, and standing. The employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and hear. The employee is frequently required to bend, squat, kneel, sit, stand, walk, push/ pull, handle objects (manual dexterity), reach above shoulder level, and use fine finger movements. The employee must carry/ lift loads of 50 lbs.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to excessive noise, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, gases, radiation, motorized equipment, and works in confined quarters.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Flex scheduling is available upon request but must meet the needs of the company.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required for this position.

Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay
