The Role

As part of our ambitious growth plans, Occuity is now seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Production team as a Manufacturing Technician. This role is an ideal opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, who is able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and team-based environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

This is a varied role, which will include the following key responsibilities:

  • Running a variety of mechanical and optical assembly and test procedures, accurately following protocols and work instructions
  • Inspecting of parts, checking of all components before progressing to next steps
  • Clearly documenting assembly and test data and observations, and compiling reports
  • Closely working alongside the engineering team and quality team as required to overcome and resolve atypical events
  • Taking part in root cause analysis/problem-solving as part of your development and gaining process knowledge/understanding

This is a hands-on role that offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a new and innovative company at an early stage. This will allow any candidate to be involved in different areas across the business, therefore significantly broadening their experience and allowing them to grow with the company.


Experience, Skills & Qualifications

To qualify for the Manufacturing Technician position, you will have previous experience of working in a complex manufacturing environment, you will have practical knowledge of skills such as excellent fault-finding and problem solving skills, but most importantly, you will have experience of mechanical assembly.

  • Experience of working in assembly and test environments
  • Must be organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive self-starting attitude is essential
  • GMP background
  • Ability to follow specific processes, protocols, and SOPs
  • Ability to report and communicate issues with clarity
  • Quality focused
  • Good time management
  • Positive attitude to work and an understanding of the need to change and improve
  • Sound understanding of regulatory and business compliance
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience of collaborative team environments.
  • Experience operating and working in a technically capable team.
  • Keen attention to detail

Desirable

  • A technical education in an engineering field
  • Prior experience of working with optical components, equipment or medical devices
