Job description

Purpose of the Job

To undertake all training (in house and external) to develop into a Manufacturing Engineer to be able to:
Design, setup and develop production lines / processes utilising lean principles to optimise cell productivity.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Raise any concerns regarding HSE immediately.
  • Attend all training with PETA/City Technology and complete all coursework.
  • Complete notes and fill in Apprenticeship logbook.
  • Use skills learnt deliver projects required to support apprenticeship requirements.
  • Use skills learnt to fulfil the below within reasonable and practical timescales
  • Review existing production Cells and implement changes to improve labour utilisation.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing Cells and drive continuous improvement through RCA.
  • Provide solutions / improvements to address HSE issues
  • Provide technical / Process support to Engineering Technicians in support of RCA.
  • To ensure that all new or modified processes, equipment and materials are introduced and used in accordance with UK
  • Health and Safety regulations and Company Procedures.
  • To ensure process, equipment and ergonomic risk assessments are completed where necessary.
  • To assist the Technician team in determining the correct TPM activities and schedules.
  • Ensuring timely completion of Kaizen ideas
  • Be a key driver in our safety first culture
  • Procure new or enhance existing equipment, through either in house modifications or third party. Via local approval or Capital approval requests.

Education Required (academic and/or technical education)


  • Literacy and Numeracy.
  • A broad range of qualifications or experience may be acceptable, however it is envisaged that a minimum of GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 / C level, and either Science or Mechanical qualification and or practical experience.
