Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Build Strategy Modularisation
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements
Salary: From £40,000 – (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Overseeing a project from concept to implementation
- Generating and implementing cost effective solutions through the effective use of innovative thinking and interfacing with other disciplines
- Discussing and suggesting radical but realistic ideas for improvement in manufacturing capability
- Preventing and resolving Operational build issues thus enabling achievement of delivery targets
- Generating and issuing Operations data (e.g., Manufacturing Instructions etc.) from Engineering information in line with Project timescales
- Developing a key strategy to help deliver build targets
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Operations Experience within build/manufacturing function
- Able to work with and influence a multi discipline team and have a flexible approach to problem resolution but understand when and where to seek expert advice
- Methodical approach to work and documenting your work
- Strong IT skills of Microsoft packages
Desirable
- Trade related experience/qualifications desirable

The Manufacturing team:
As a part of the Manufacturing team, you will be able to define, develop and ultimately deliver a strategy on how to ‘break down’ the elements of the submarine into ‘modular’ packages with respect to ensuring buildability of the submarine, producibility of the module, best achieving the most efficient methodology.
