Job description
Job Role:
A Manufacturing Operative will work closely with the area Supervisors; and other team / cell members, to deliver production orders, safely, on time and to the company quality requirements, typically producing CNC machined parts. Further focus of this role will be assisting in the development and improvement of Business Excellence; production processes and 5S.
Training will be provided and there may be a requirement for shift working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production of machined parts utilising a variety of machine tools, including milling machines, turning machines, grinding machines, both CNC and manual
- Maintain high levels of manufacturing Quality components; on time and ‘right first time’.
- The ability to understand manufacturing drawings, including dimensional and geometric tolerances.
- Utilisation of inspection equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, depth gauges as well as other manual and electronic measuring equipment.
- Carry out self-inspection of components produced utilising the above.
- Daily recording of work throughput and reasons for waste.
- Ensure operator and preventative maintenance (TPM) requirements are met and report maintenance issues back to the Supervisor.
- Assist business excellence within own area working closely with Business Excellence Team.
- Lead / support daily management to minimise performance deviations.
- Cross train over multiple areas.
- Recording of data via PC
Requirements:
- Experience in Engineering environment, ideally CNC machining/manufacturing
- Hands-on approach to work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good IT skills
- Excellent time management
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Enthusiasm for Cooper Products
