A Managing Consultant is a senior leadership role, often taking the lead on multiple major client engagements and internal assignments. In addition to creating, maintaining and developing senior stakeholder relationships, Managing Consultants are often responsible for setting the strategic direction of client engagements, overseeing delivery and the quality of assignment work, and providing leadership to the wider team. Outside of client work Managing Consultants can play the lead in internal and external special interest networks, develop though leadership, and lead business development work – for example responding to tenders. In time Managing Consultants take on line management responsibilities for colleagues who are themselves senior leaders.
While they have many and diverse responsibilities, Managing Consultants operate in the context of a large and highly supportive team of Partners and other Managing Consultants, where team success is prioritised. New joiner Management Consultants are supported by peer mentors, coaching and an individually tailored integration plan. Flexible targets are applied aligned to their focus areas and time in the firm.

The team is looking for Managing Consultants with a clear strategic mind-set and who can work at the top of national security organisations and be able to help shape their strategic decision making.

Strategic mind-set and experience of developing policies, and supporting organisations develop their response to new threats, and technical, legislative and regulatory change- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the confidence and ability to bring fresh insights to the very top of the organisations mentioned above
