LOCATION(S): London

About this opportunity
Are you an experienced Finance professional with experience in External Reporting, looking for a future career move?
Our external reporting team sits within Central Finance and comprises approximately 20 colleagues across both London and Bristol. Their work forms the financial basis of the Annual Report and Accounts published and released to the markets each year. They also produce LBG's quarterly news releases and regulatory information reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the United States and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) in the UK alongside other external reporting.
In this role you’ll be required to coordinate and deliver the Group’s financial reporting as well as producing key Group disclosures and liaising with a wide community of finance colleagues to ensure the highest standards are maintained in anything that goes out of the door.
This role is especially exciting, being right at the very centre of the Group and involves working with teams from all of LBG’s many and varied lines of business.
Day to day you’ll be;
- Delivering the production of the Group’s and its principal subsidiaries’ primary statements.
- Leading on investigations into and understanding of trends and performing important analysis arising from senior management requests.
- Participating through active involvement with the wider Group Finance communities.
- Demonstrating a highly inquisitive mindset alongside professional independence in ensuring that financial information being reported is of the highest quality.
- Establishing and forming relationships with colleagues in finance teams across the UK and the rest of the world to develop a network of experts.
About us
Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We’re growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…
What you’ll need
We are looking for a Qualified Group Accountant who has good knowledge of IFRS reporting, group consolidation, experience with financial reporting and annual report production. You’ll have an inquisitive mindset, and be willing to engage with other areas of finance to gain understanding of key movements in the group financial statements. As we are moving along with our finance transformation you’ll be passionate in driving forward continuous improvement. Nothing is achieved here without collaboration and to succeed you’ll need to be happy pitching in to address complex issues, as well as be comfortable asking your colleagues for help with the solutions.
And any experience of these would be really useful
- Enthusiastic and optimistic about continuous improvement and about making processes simpler and more efficient for yourself and your colleagues.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting and consolidation principles gained either through ACA, ACCA or other similar accounting qualifications.
- Previous experience of GDRS would be beneficial but is not crucial.
