About the Role
ICT Manager - Interconnectors, home based (with occasional EU travel)
The Nemo Link interconnector is an incorporated Joint Venture between National Grid Interconnector Holdings and the Belgian Elia Group. The interconnector electrically connects Belgium and GB providing both countries with improved grid reliability and access to sustainable generation. Nemo Link consists of subsea and underground cables connected to a converter station and an electricity substation in each country, which allows electricity to flow in either direction between the two countries.
Most of NLL’s key operations/processes are automated and the company is heavily reliant on ICT to run its business 24/7. Most of Nemo Link’s ICT Systems are cloud based with the exception of key operational systems required to control/monitor the HVDC interconnector.
As ICT Manager, you will be managing/coaching a high-functioning team that assures the day to day running of the ICT systems/networks and that is responsible for all future ICT projects. Your main responsibilities are to assure that all current and future ICT requirements of the business are well identified and met in an economic and efficient way and to maintain and increase Nemo Link’s Cyber Security maturity and assuring future compliance in this domain.
What you'll be getting up to
Delivering on people leadership as well as thought leadership in the ICT/cyber space sector:
- Managing high performing team, peers and stakeholders to deliver industry best practice.
- Lead the assessment of relevant (emerging) technologies and drive the change management programmes for implementation, ensuring continuous operation of the interconnector.
- Leading the development and implementation Nemo Link’s ICT/OT strategy and policies aligned with its overall business objectives, including disaster recovery and business continuity.
The delivery of flawless operation of the asset:
- Accountable for ensuring the availability of systems to contribute to the smooth running of the interconnector.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant IT regulations, industry standards, and data protection laws. Establishing IT policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote data privacy, information security, and ethical use of technology.
- Implement robust security and cyber security measures/contingency plans to protect the ICT systems and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.
The management of key stakeholders (internal/external):
- Managing vendors, service providers, and relevant stakeholders involved in the day to day running of Nemo Link.
- Reporting towards the NLL Management Committee and Board of Directors on the ICT domain
- Actively managing messages and narrative with key stakeholders (e.g. Ofgem on cyber compliance)
About You
- In-depth ICT systems and infrastructure knowledge and/or capability to manage a team that can maintain ICT systems and critical infrastructure, including networks, servers, data centres, virtualization technologies, and related hardware and software.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex ICT projects within the energy or utility sector, including planning, budget allocation, resource allocation, change and risk management.
- Cyber security: Strong understanding of cyber security principles and best practices, including network security, access controls, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Communication Technologies: Familiarity with communication protocols, networking technologies, and telecommunication systems
- Experience in collaborating and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Team management would be beneficial but not essentail.
