Job Title: Manager

Basic guaranteed salary offered: £26,500

Working hours per week: 37.5

Duties and skills required – Manager:

· Assisting customers on a wider range of Post Office products such as Postal, Finance & Banking, Travel and telecom. This is restricted to checking relevant forms are completed in the required manned.

· To ensure that financial, operational policies and other procedures are followed, ensuring, effective, efficient and safe environment and systems.

· To ensure high levels of customer care within The Post Office and monitor business standards.

· To perform such other duties, comparable in responsibility, as may from time to time be directed by seniors.

· Effectively supervise performance of staff, ensure compliance with Post Office rules and regulation, ensure smooth operation of postal services.

· To ensure the effective day to day operation of the Post Office and connected retail shop within agreed budgets and targets.

· Be responsible for opening and closing and placing/supervising placing of cash orders, stock orders.

· Ensure all staff deliver a professional, friendly service to all customers.

· Support the Postmaster with employee lifecycle from recruitment to appraisals, training and disciplinary procedures.

· Ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld at all times.

· Work closely with the Postmaster to identify cost saving measures and sales opportunities through analysis of the Profit & Loss statement.

· Create a customer service led culture which is always striving to improve performance.

· Maximise opportunities to drive sales and increase footfall.

· Drive the team to achieve both individual and branch targets including sales, shrink, pricing, waste, cash loss and staff costs.

· Ensure the branch is fully compliant with all current legislation and PO compliance and training requirements.

· Effectively handling any customer and employee complaints to minimise disputes.

· Effectively liaise with staff to ensure accurate knowledge of post office services that can be provided to customers.

· Oversee sales target, stock, vending prices, discount rates and quality of merchandise.

· Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed KPIs and sales targets.

· Make effective use of displays and advertising to encourage a flow of customers.

Job requirements:

· Degree qualification desired. Other qualifications considered.

· Previous experience of working to and achieving demanding targets within tight budgets. Minimum 3 years’ experience is expected.

· Working knowledge of profit & loss accounts desired.

· Desire retail experience in a management role (Training will be provided).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £26,500.00 per year
