About us:
Williams, Stanley and Co are looking for a management accountant to head up our reporting function and to look after accounts assistants and bookkeeping team.
We are a hospitality specialist accountancy practise, with offices across the UK and US. We are a very fast growing company having expanded significantly over the last few years with great chances for development and promotion.
Role:
Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, the Management Accountant will hold responsibility for management accounting within our practise and will be responsible for UK based clients. This role will require the right candidate to be able to liaise and create strong rapports with our US and UK clients.
The role will provide exposure to senior stakeholders, clients and our own leadership team. This role will allow you to develop yourself, your team and our practise as we continue to grow and consistently improve our client offering. This is a role for someone to mentor, improve and put their mark on our team and company.
Duties will include:
- Supervising and assisting with the completion of the monthly management accounts and client meetings
- Produce board packs for monthly management meetings
- Managing a team of Management account assistants and bookkeepers
- Supervising the bookkeeping function
- Mentoring new team members and direct reports
- Reconciliation of balance sheets at month end
- Produce and post monthly journals
- Maintain fixed asset registers for clients
- Training across the company in management accounts team
- Prepare information for annual corporation tax schedules and assist our tax team
- Produce monthly and quarterly VAT returns/reconciliations
- Assist with budget preparation
- Assist with statutory audits and audit information across teams and disciplines
The successful Management Accountant:
- Part Qualified or Newly Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Significant experience in a similar role with a strong accounting skillset and previous staff management/supervisory experience
- Hospitality experience either in practise or industry is vital
- Resilience and a style of leading from the front
- A wish to develop and be part of a fast-growing national practise
- Ability to communicate successfully and partner with senior management and other departments
- Must be fully versed with 445 reporting
- Advanced Excel skills are essential and Xero experience would be advantageous
- Any knowledge of PowerBi a massive bonus!
