We are recruiting a Management Accountant to take a new role within our Finance team.

About the role
We are hiring for a new role in the Finance team, which arises because of the growth in the Pathways / Partnerships business. We have recently signed a contract for international student recruitment to our first Canadian University Partner and as the UK Pathways business has continued to grow, we want to expand our Finance Business Partnering capacity to add dedicated support to our Support Functions, (Legal, HR and other HQ support functions ). The role will have a direct reporting line into our Head of Finance, University Partnerships North America, and a dotted line into our Head of Financial Planning Analysis (FPA).
We are looking for someone who has a good grasp of accounting, who enjoys broad variety in their work and enjoys engagement with senior business stakeholders. It is principally a Management Accountant role, responsible for the accounting for our new Canada Partnership. From an FPA perspective, the role will be responsible for monthly reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy at month end for the Support Functions; providing monthly reporting and analysis to the Heads of Support Functions understand their accounts and supporting them with planning (budgeting and forecasting).
Key responsibilities
Accounting for Canadian University Partnership under the direction of the Head of Finance, University Partnerships North America:
Taking responsibility for the Canada Profit and loss account and Balance sheet, which includes accounting for student recruitment revenues and costs, transactions between group companies and performing key account reconciliations.- Providing a month end report to key business stakeholders.
- Providing financial details to our external advisors for tax calculations and statutory accounts.
- Arranging payments.
- Support with budgeting and forecasting for the Canada Partnership.
- Ad hoc financial modelling.
For the Finance Business Partner element of the role:
Monthly management reporting which includes narrative summarising performance and variance analysis for each Support Function ensuring that both format and content are clear and engaging.- Month-end pre-close support function reviews to ensure monthly accounts are complete and accurate.
- Providing analysis to support business decision making by Support Function Heads, as required.
- Liaising with key budget holders regarding any account queries.
- Update of planning and forecast templates to form the basis of budgets and forecasts to give clear visibility of costs.
About you
Finalist or qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA, CA or recognised CCAB qualification.- Happy to work for a variety of staff, being flexible and adaptable.
- Confident and articulate individual who can build rapport within the Finance team and outside of Finance.
- Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills both verbal and written.
- Confident Excel user, able to work with Pivot tables, vlookups and excel formulae.
- Self-disciplined and accountable for producing high-quality work.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to investigate problem areas with an inquisitive mind.
- Good time management and organisational skills in planning own work.
Desirable
Previous experience using GPL and integrated reporting tools
