Drax have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Drax Energy Solutions business in Ipswich in an exciting new role due to business growth!
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this key role will support the future growth of Drax Energy Solutions (‘DES’) through the production of timely financial information to aid decision making for Senior leadership teams. Including but not limited to management accounts, key company metrics and supporting the financial audit process.
You’ll produce monthly management accounting for aspects of revenue and direct costs as required across the DESL Supply, Energy Services and Renewables business, this will include preparing and posting monthly financial journals.
You’ll develop and maintain regular, high-quality communication with the business’s non-finance stakeholders in order to ensure key information flows occur on a timely basis, are well understood, and are refined where necessary. You’ll also ensure information flows include business data required for finance and finance reports required by the business.
About you
You’ll be part qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA and be actively studying. You’ll have experience in an accounting role in a medium/large company environment and experience with financial systems and a demonstrable commitment to simplification and automation of processes. Competent with MS Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Previous experience in the energy sector an advantage. Attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of accounting and financial reporting is essential.
