Job description
The position:
Reporting into our Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will take responsibility for reporting of the companies within the Cornwall Insight Group. Based in Norwich, you will be working with a friendly, close-knit finance team, taking the lead on the management accounts reporting.
You will ideally need to have a solid background in management accounts, ideally with experience dealing across multiple currencies and jurisdictions.

Our finance team are based in our head office in Norwich.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the production of monthly management reports including profit and loss accounts balance sheets, cash flows.
- Management of the general ledger including ownership of trial balance, preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments and deferred income and completion of balance sheet control account reconciliations
- Active participation in the annual audit including preparation of year-end financial statements
- Contribute to the production and preparation of the Company’s forecasts and budgets
- Responsibility for production, submission & compliance with various HMRC returns including quarterly VAT, CT61, Corporation Tax payments.
- Responsibility for the maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
- Actively participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial processes, accounting systems & policies.
- Keep up to date with relevant accounting, company law and tax legislation and undertake appropriate continuous professional development as required.
- Carry out other duties as consistent with the responsibilities of the post and as directed by the Financial Controller
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- 5 years post qualification experience or QBE equivalent
- Experience of working with Sage and QuickBooks would be beneficial
- Experience of working across multiple currencies and jurisdictions
- Experience of working in a fast-paced office environment
- Knowledge of a professional services sector
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with wider teams and build good internal and external relationships
- Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
