Job description
Our client at large estate based in Shropshire is looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant
- To prepare annual Financial Year budgets (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with Farms Manager & Finance team for approval by the Senior Management Team
- To work with the Finance Team to provide monthly, quarterly management accounts and annual statutory accounts including trial balances
- To prepare quarterly VAT returns
- To report monthly at the Farms meetings on variance to Harvest budgets, variance to Financial Year budget, Machinery & Infrastructure investment costs to date and proposals, Crop Sales & Input tracker working with Farms Manager & Finance team
- To take minutes at the Farms Meetings and ensure matters arising are dealt with for the following meeting
- To manage the Farms invoicing raising process, including licences and weighbridge tickets, and chase debtors accordingly
- To help the Farms Manager formulate annual harvest rotation and budget with Agronomist for approval by the Senior Management Team
- To help the Farms Manager continually monitor gross margins and costs of production of crops for discussion at monthly Farms meetings
- To draft terms of licences, using an agreed template for approval of the Farms Manager & Strategic Farms Consultant, and help the Farms Manager manage the licences generally
- To work with the Farms Manager to manage stocks including orders, deliveries, stock takes as well as do monthly and annual stock valuations in line with financial reporting standards
- To work with Farms Manager & Finance team to periodically revise budgets, cash flow forecasts, and general reporting
- To help the Farms Manager act as Account Holder for the Farms account through management of payments to maximise cash flow, checking the daily bank balances / statements, chasing debtors when escalated etc.
- To help the Farms Manager prepare capital works return appraisals relating to infrastructure investment as necessary to include grain storage, irrigation, renewable energy and farm buildings for approval by the Senior Management Team
- To maintain the Fixed Asset Register for the Farms business
- To maintain spreadsheet monitoring of Contractors, Casual Labour, Temporary & Permanent Team hours; Fuel use & Machinery use
- To prepare contracts & accompanying documents using existing templates for Permanent & Temporary team members for approval by the Farms Manager
- To maintain a Crop Marketing Strategy in conjunction with the Farms Manager, to include becoming a member of any sales co-operatives or engaging in direct sales contract, for approval by Senior Management Team and to market crops in accordance with this strategy

Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
