ABOUT MAKE-READY
Make-Ready is dedicated to producing original prints of outstanding quality and has an altogether different approach on defining what a fine art print studio can be. We specialise in high-end silkscreen printing, producing stunning artworks for some of the world's most exciting contemporary artists.

We are currently a team of 13 based in Tottenham, North London. This is a unique opportunity develop yourself within a team of highly skilled professionals working with one of the most technically versatile printing processes in the arts.
ABOUT THE ROLE

Contract type: Full time (Monday-Friday 9-6pm)
Salary range:starting from £25k (variable depending on experience)

Proposed Start date: July/August 2022
Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Operating one of Make-Ready’s silkscreen printing benches (for BAU + timed release projects) under supervision
- Gaining a full understanding of the printing machines and supporting equipment by engaging in training and guidance from your manager and experienced colleagues.

Actively seeking to improve your knowledge base around the printing machines.
Showing a high level of respect and care when using printing equipment. - Keep printing areas generally clean and tidy.
- Follow the core values of Make-Ready and apply this approach to every task
- Proofing projects assigned to you by the Creative Team/ Production & Logistics Team under supervision
Performing all ancillary tasks associated with silkscreen printmaking and when required screen making and digital printing..
Producing a proof within the parameters set out by the creative team, but also contributing to creative decisions on press.
Feeding back and communicating to your manager any successes and blockers during the proofing process.Managing time effectively and thinking critically about what can be achieved day to day, week to week.
Communicating with the Pre-Press & Stencil Making Team to ensure project screens are made in good time ahead of a scheduled press-window.

Printing editions under supervision
Transferring the proofed artwork into a completed silkscreen printed edition.
Ensure edition colours and layers match the proof, with guidance from the creative team.
Ensuring consistency across a print run by following good procedure (checking gain bars, having the B.A.T and proof hung up for reference).
To fully immerse yourself in a given project and proactively seek out information regarding the print if you are unsure.
To deliver a printed edition in the required manner to the Production & Logistics team for finishing.

Additional tasks
From time to time carrying out tasks production and studio management tasks that might fall outside general printmaking activities
Including working in the Pre-Press & Stencil Making Department, to gain a well formed understanding of this department.
Objectives and Key Results (OKRs):
To physically produce proofs, BAU edition and Timed Launch prints for Make-Ready and Avant Arte under the guidance of the Creative Team and Production & Logistics Team.
To maintain printing ‘up-time’ and a organised printing environment.
To hit printing targets (both proofing and edition printing) set by the Creative Team & Production & Logistics team.
