Job Overview
We’re currently seeking a Maitre'd who understands (and values) the importance of superior service, and leverages it to give guests an unforgettably warm and inspiring welcome. Our dream Host is essentially a brand ambassador, always reflecting our core values and going above and beyond to welcome every single guest into the restaurant. This is perfect role for people who love other people, and especially love helping guests feel welcome, relaxed, and excited about their experience.
- Managing the shifts reservations – ensuring service flows and Guests needs are met
- Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; direct Hosts to escort Guests them to assigned dining area; present menus
- Make reservations for Guests inside and calling into the restaurant
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service
- Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas; provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests, if appropriate
- Call Guests to confirm reservations or answer questions, as necessary
- Communicate with other Hosts Guest tables and/or special needs
- Communicate Guest notes to Managers, Kitchen, and Service Team by using chits
- Tend to special Guest needs and requests
- Recognizing, welcoming, noting restaurant regulars, VIP Guests, and/or critics
- Research, detail, and track VIP guest preferences and those of his/her contacts
- Communicate all VIP guests to leadership and team members as soon as a new booking is made, or walk-in arrives
- Update and track VIPs and faces to know communication and training documents as needed or as new information becomes available
- Inform Guests of basic information about offerings at the restaurant and/or hotel property details or initiatives
- Maintaining a strong and friendly presence at the door
- Communicating to the kitchen necessary information about Guests and covers
- Checking, securing, and returning Guests belongings
- Additional requests made by management to maintain flow of service, Guest experience, and/or restaurant cleanliness
- Inputting special buttons into POS for daily and/or weekly specials as communicated by chef/management
- Updating Single platform online menu content daily/weekly to ensure all online channels are up to date with correct menus
- Audit all online channels to ensure operational information is correct
Candidate Profile:
- About you...
- 3 or more years luxury hotel experience.
- A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
- An expert in housekeeping operations, a strong leader and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
- Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
- Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
