You will join an established Multi-skilled Team within our top tier COMAH site. Your purpose will be to demonstrate and execute a wide range of practical Mechanical & Electrical skills, ranging from basic workshop skills including fabrication of pipework, steelwork, and plastics to working out on plant in a methodical & logical manner such that reactive faults can be identified and repaired safely, alongside working proactively by working on Planned maintenance & Routines scheduled by our Maintenance planner.

Your responsibilities:
Delivery of preventative/proactive maintenance of Mechanical systems and its sub or support systems, alongside safe isolation and disconnection of electrical power supplies
Attending to any reactive/corrective maintenance that arises, fault finding, completing any repairs/replacements/calibration or set-up, installation of new systems/equipment, commissioning alongside operations on returning to service
Use of technical drawings & operator manuals alongside Mechanical exploded view/cross sectional drawings, Electrical schematics & P&ID’s to aid fault diagnosis process
Contribute to improving the site performance in all aspects of safe operation, regulatory compliance, productive output and cost efficiency by improving the engineering reliability of site equipment and ensuring appropriate maintenance frequency of assets is complied with
Work alongside compliance & technical author to support the technical review of written maintenance documents and operational procedures
Conduct Inspections, testing, calibration, adjustments, and monitoring tasks as required to maintain efficient plant and build-in equipment reliability
Requirements for the role:
Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers, and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months
Mechanical/Electrical-based qualification to HNC/ONC level or equivalent.
Time served Apprenticeship with a further 5 years’ experience
Formal Electrical qualifications to support multi-skilling
Previous Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience
Experience of structured problem-solving techniques, fault diagnosis
Ability to read and comprehend Mechanical Schematics & OEM Manuals, P&ID’s
Shift Rotation:
You will be required to work 12 hours day, on a 5/4 off rotation (inc Weekends)
This rotation involves 3 Day Shift / 2 Night Shift followed by 4 days off.
