Job Title: Maintenance Technician
The Client
Leeds Castle in Kent is one of the countries leading heritage visitor attractions, welcoming over 550,000 visitors each year. As well as the 900 years old Castle there are Estates buildings, holiday cottages, bed & breakfast accommodation and other modern domestic properties.
Job Description
To undertake planned preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance of the Castle, Estate buildings and infrastructure, to ensure compliance in accordance with agreed service levels and to respond to site related emergencies when required. To comply with all reasonable requests from Estates Manager, Hard Services Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor.
Skills and Experience
A multi-skilled Technician, conversant with domestic plumbing and experienced in building fabric maintenance.
Experience and knowledge of:
· Working in a customer facing, high profile site.
· Basic carpentry, fitting door furniture such as locks, handles and hinges etc.
· General building works to include, but not limited to, the repair / replacement of tiles and grouting, minor painting, decorating and making good damaged areas, basic plumbing, such as tap reviver kits, tap set replacement, ensuring all work is planned and completed to a high standard, in a timely manner.
· Ensure that subcontractors are appropriately supervised as required, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating procedures.
· Daily / weekly plant room checks.
· Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
· A good level of communication and basic computer skills, use of PDA / Smart phone (Supplied by Leeds Castle)
Key Responsibilities / Core Accountabilities
· Demonstrate a positive, proactive and flexible approach in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service to staff and visitors to the Castle and Grounds. This will also include supporting not only maintenance activities, but also events and functions when required.
· To maintain the highest standard of behaviour, performance and appearance, ensuring that the designated uniform is worn at all times.
· Ensure the provision of a Safe & Healthy working environment, and compliance with all company policies and procedures and working arrangements, as required.
· Any other reasonable request made by the Maintenance Management.
Accountabilities
Accountable to the Hard Services Manager.
Hours of Work / Shifts
Monday to Friday 0745h to 1645h (40hrs)
Occasional overtime to support events and functions at weekends and evenings.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £23,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
